Ghost Cicada (Ayuthia spectabile)

Macroscan of a Ghost Cicada (Ayuthia spectabile) captured on my Brand new macroscanning rig. The only species in the monotypic genus Ayuthia, is commonly known as the milky cicada or white ghost cicada, belongs to the subfamily Cicadinae. The white sugar-like substance covering its body is called pruinescence - natural waxy coating that many insects, including certain cicadas, produce on their exoskeleton (cuticle).
